I love that line!!

Societal change is difficult because it's so much easier to maintain the status quo - in other words it's hard, and oftentimes dangerous, work. But it's work that must be done if we are to build a just and equitable society.

So glad you liked that line! Those are often pivotal moments; the right support at the right time can completely change the trajectory of someone's life.

Such a relevant article Susan. Change is never easy. Deep change can often challenge our most strongly held beliefs - those that play a part in defining who we are. It can take real courage to step away from what we have learned to be true or what those around us all seem to believe, especially when one has to do it without your fourth point - support. Thank you for illustrating the value in examining those beliefs from time to time.

So well-stated Vernon, this is so obviously an area of expertise for you! Deep change involves far more within one’s psyche (and thus can be a far more difficult and involved process) than what others see from the outside. And yes, support — or lack thereof — has a huge impact.
