Anna thanks for this insightful article. As a requirement of work I attended the San'yas Indigenous Cultural Safety Training Program. San’yas means “way of knowing” in Kwak’wala the language of the Kwakwaka’wakw Peoples, whose traditional and unceded territories are located on northern Vancouver Island and surrounding areas. This truly opened my eyes as to the injustices wrought against Indigenous peoples.
