Pavement beneath, fiery hot Burning the soles of your feet Or mountains of snow, icy cold Face brutally pelted by sleet End of day, peaceful sleep Where pleasant dreams await Or toss and turn at Epiales’ whim Tormented by your fate Memories yield a gentle hand To soothe, caress, and console Or cutting remembrances slice within To tear and shred your soul Body whole, mind crystal clear Conscious you exist Or body and mind faded away A decrepit, withering mist Languishing in a darkened cell Wishing, waiting for death Or scared and alone in a dimly lit room Gasping your final breath Cold and lifeless in the ground Spirit in Heavenly rest Or tortured groans in the depths of Hell As demons laugh and jest Thoughts embed with fierce resolve, The most beautiful moments to mar Peace eludes, a distant myth Until I know where you are
