Saturday afternoon visit
Let’s take a photo together
She doesn’t want to
Come on, it will be fun

Four-score and seven years
Etched in lines across her face
Love, laughter, joy, sorrow
A story hidden in every crease

Sit down beside me
Snuggle up closer, that’s it
She laughs
See, I told you it would be fun!

She’s gone now
No more visits
Pull out the photo
Examine all those lines
Search for the crease from our Saturday afternoon
Found it!
I hear her laugh
